At Rochem, we specialise in . For optimum results, we recommend a cleaning schedule that incorporates both online and offline washes to remove problematic foulants thoroughly.
is simple: atomised cleaning fluid is injected into the compressor during regular turbine operation. But what about those thorough, manual, offline cleans? What products should you choose, and how should they be applied? Allow us to introduce our convenient and effective FYREWASH® blade wipes, making manual cleaning quick, easy and effective.
Anyone running a gas turbine wants it to be
a) productive,
b) efficient and
c) reliable.
Neglecting to clean the gas turbine compressor compromises all three of these objectives by allowing foulants to accumulate.
Contaminates such as salt, pollen, and pollution enter the system via the air inlet, while hydrocarbons and lubricants can come from internal leaks. Their presence is unavoidable (no matter how effective your air filtration system), and as they build up, airflow is interrupted and efficiency impacted. Left unchecked, foulants can cause a complete failure of the system resulting in unscheduled shutdowns and a shorter working life of your turbine.
A regular cleaning schedule of online washes, which minimise foulant build-up, and offline cleans, which tackle any stubborn residue, regain lost power while keeping your gas turbine compressor running productively, efficiently, and reliably.
are nonwoven, lint-free wipes pre-soaked with FYREWASH® cleaning chemical. They are designed to be used by hand, manually wiping away foulants when off-line cleaning gas turbine compressors. They are beneficial for tricky-to-reach areas such as inlet guide vanes and other parts of the compressor air inlet.
Foolproof and reliable, FYREWASH® blade wipes come ready-to-use with the correct concentration of chemicals that target a broad range of foulants. Non-hazardous and user-friendly, you can use in confidence knowing that the lint-free wipes will not damage delicate components, nor will they leave problematic residue. Using wipes in this way also minimises chemical waste.
Our top tip is to use used, dried wipes a second time to thoroughly remove any deposits and moisture without leaving lint behind.
Although regular on-line washes with an appropriate chemical are the best way to keep fouling to a minimum, some build-up of contaminants is inevitable. An occasional off-line wash is thoroughly recommended and, for manual cleans, FYREWASH® blade wipes come into their own.
FYREWASH® blade wipes are a convenient, effective method of manual off-line cleaning, making it easier to get your turbine up and running again. about our industry-leading FYREWASH® blade wipes, or download the brochure here.
