At Rochem, we are doing our best to . From initial ideas at head office to our technology in action at power plants, we carefully consider the life cycle of our products. This enables us to make tweaks to production and practise to minimise our environmental impact.
At the design stage, our developers consider:
Consciously keeping these three factors at the forefront of their minds allows the team to make changes to product design that minimise environmental impact.
For example, if an alternative raw material is more readily available or is easier to recycle at the end of the product’s life, it makes sense to opt for that. If one nozzle design requires more water to achieve the same results as another, they will proceed with the latter in order to minimise water wastage during use.
Even tiny tweaks in the design stage can dramatically reduce the environmental impact of production and use.
At the production stage, our engineers are able to do many things to keep our negative impact as small as possible. Here are a few examples:
Sometimes we are limited with our shipping options but we always strive to choose the most environmentally friendly option available.
Our are all sold in concentrated solutions and available to buy in large quantities to reduce packaging waste. Plus, with stockists around the world, we are often able to make one large shipment in place of several smaller ones.
Although this is where we have the least control, we still do what we can to support our customers in their environmental efforts.
The whole idea behind gas turbine compressor cleaning equipment and chemicals is to . This has a knock-on effect of reduced fuel and energy usage, and more complete combustion, which are both positives for the environment (and our customers’ profit margins!).
are efficient and effective at cleaning and rinsing, using minimal water and energy. Our FYREWASH® range also includes specialised products for use in especially environmentally sensitive locations.
As with product use, we have limited control over how our customers dispose of cleaning effluent and equipment at the end of its life. However, we offer advice on disposal and always recommend that customers check with local environmental authorities on the correct procedure.
Much of our equipment can be repaired when necessary, extending its useful life, and recycled as scrap when it ultimately needs replacing.
We are not naïve to the fact that gas turbines are, by their nature, not good for the environment, so it’s important to take steps to minimise their impact. This is something we already help with at sites around the globe.
If you’d like to find out more about how we play our part for the environment or how our products can help you in your efforts, . Our knowledgeable, helpful team will be happy to answer all your questions.
